I have read all of SK's darkhunter books and must say I am very disappointed with UAMC. The characters have no depth, no character to speak of, its as if she just quickly rushed to get this story out while concentrating on other things (like her writing as Kinley Macgregor). You really couldnt care less if the hero and heroine were killed or not. The interaction between them has no zing, nothing to make you empathise with them. In addition the story is very short, the first thing that struck me was how large the print was compared to the size of the book.
