I was really looking forward to reading this book and finding out what all the hype was about; I was not disappointed, the story gets off to an interesting start with our unlikely heroine Lyra in Jordan College, Oxford along with her Daemon Pantalaimon. The book then page turns into an addictive un put downable story following Lyra's adventures avoiding the "evil" Mrs Coulter and her flight to Bolvangar and Svalbard. Complete with Armour plated polar bears and flying witches, this is one amazing creation and just left me wanting more. I am now starting "The Subtle Knife" the next book in the trilogy. I thoroughly recommend this book for all ages, don't be put off thinking its only for children!
