My daughter who is just 6 is absolutely pony mad and has enjoyed this series of books. The stories are fine for pony mad children and are pitched about right for her age group. The only thing that I really dislike is some of the language used - calling people 'a cow' is a common feature of all the books and isn't necessary for that age group. My daughter doesn't use this language now and I wouldn't want to encourage her calling people the same thing...I change the word when I read it aloud to her (perhaps I'm just too picky!). Don't let the Jordan association put you off...the books are harmless and do the job if your kids love horses. Not as good as the Pony Mad Princess Books but worth a read.
