A devoted fan of Karin Kallmaker's work, I couldn't wait to get stuck in to this newest one. She'd never disappointed me before, but almost right from the start of this book I felt cheated! It's charaters were obviously based entirely on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, almost 'unrelentlessly' so. That in itself wasn't the problem, afterall there've been other successful productions (books, plays, films) woven around P&P, the problem was that it felt like a lazy copy. You could almost predict what the charaters were going to do just by having read Pride and Prejudice!
