Young Wives' Tales - Adele Parks
I have enjoyed other Adele Parks books, but this one is extremely average. Her previous books are filled with gossip and scandal, but this one, for all of it's 560 pages, is decidely lacking in any real substance.
I can't understand or get the measure of the main characters. Lucy claims to love her husband so much, "more than herself" yet goes on and on about how boring and mundane her life is with him, and she even has an affair. The same can be said about her relationship with her daughter - one minute she's a priority, the next she couldn't care less about her. It doesn't make sense. Rose is a total bore and her life of arts and crafts does not make for interesting reading, and Connie is neither here nor there really.
If you haven't read Adele Parks before, then read one of her other books.
