If your kids (and you) like "Captain Flinn & the Pirate Dinosaurs", you'll certainly like this too. If you haven't read that, but your kids will give pirates or dinosaurs the thumbs up, then you'll find the mix of ideas here is silly but a lot of fun! The pictures are terrific, giving just the sense of action and movement that the story calls for. And the story is suitably crazy, mixing to great effect the old tricks of 'another world through the back of the cupboard/ wardrobe' and adults' cluelessness about their childrens' adventures . Its only weakness is how closely it follows the plot and graphic scheme of the previous book, but that's probably an unfair quibble in the world of kids' books. If it ain't broke, don't fix it - just add a dinosaur that puts its little T Rex cousin in the shade! And the customised version of Snakes and Ladders inside the back cover is a happy bonus.
