In my opinion Cobra Gold is a must read. Although Damien Lewis is not of military background, he must get some help from somewhere. The banter between the characters is close to true. Damien also has this ability to keep the suspense, action and overall enjoyment going throughout the book you can't help but keep turning the pages. I found the characters kept me immersed within the book also, I just wanted to keep finding out more about them. The plot to the story is based on true events (although with a touch of artistic license) and leaves the reader to wonder which details are true. I wont harp on about the plot as you can read the in detail review above, but what I would like to get across is I found this one of the most enjoyable books I have read to date, and whether you're a Damien Lewis fan an SF fan or just looking for an enjoyable read you will not be disappointed. As for the comment about the troop being unfeasible there could be a bit of artistic license here or perhaps you may not heard of Task Force Black. TFB may be new but the foundations it's built on go back a bit. Sorry just my opinion, anyway nice book Damien I thoroughly enjoyed it.
