Mickey Haden a high school basketball coach takes his team to the state finals where he finds himself involved in a wealthy ruthless businessman's ploy Shakes Montrose's to take his star player Jackie Steward and corrupt him with drugs and women and control him commercially. Shakes Montrose offers Mickey a 50/50 deal in Jackie's future. Mickey angrily turns him down unknowingly leading him down a path to death and destruction even the brutal rape and beating of his wife Tracey Payne. Mickey's oldest and dearest friend Chief Canton is involved but not to the degree that he will turn his back on him and it leads to the Chief's brutal shooting and Mickey's being accused of murder and attempted murder. Mickey is unconsciously lead down a path of vigilantism in a Blood Game to save Jackie's future and his own sanity. At a national spot Shakes managed to bribe their way into Mickey confronts Shakes in a finale that is explosive and revealing which saves his reputation and Jackie's future.
